Greetings from Brazil

Hello folks,

My name is Wagner, i'm a psychologist with a master degree in education. I play table top roleplaying games for about 15 years, and larp for about ten years (only a few, two or three per year - even organized few ones). I'm also an academic and the RPGs are my research object (my dissertation was about the use of roleplaying games in education in Brazil - larp included).

Since i read some of the articles of the Beyond Role and Play i wanted to go to an knutpunkt event... And this year i finally managed to it...

I hope to meet other RPG researchers, make new friends, discover new ways to play RPGs and have a lot of fun =)

It would be wonderfull to make some contacts and exchange some ideas before the event... For those interested my email is mcfion@gmail.com (if you want my skype, msn or icq ask by mail)...

See you in some months =)

Cool! Me too!

Hi Wagner! I'm interested in RPGs as an object of research as well; my interest is in using them as a place to explore the dynamics of language use: language as play, maybe, and the encounter between communication-as-strategy and communication-as-dialog. Despite having played RPGs (mostly tabletop) for a long time, this is a new research field for me, and I'm very interested in seeing what other scholars are interested in and making connections with the "invisible college" of RPG research.

I'm proposing a programme presentation on the chapter I submitted to the Knutepunkt book, but maybe we should put our heads together and come up with an idea for a panel or workshop we can do together--maybe something on the pedagogical aspects of RPGs.

In any event, I look forward to meeting you there.
